Dr. Frank Neumann is an Entrepreneur Partner at MPM BioImpact and Chief Medical Officer of K2 Therapeutics, an MPM BioImpact portfolio company. He brings extensive experience and proven leadership in oncology and cell therapy clinical development, with a track record of advancing innovative therapies from early-stage research through global clinical development.
Prior to joining K2 Therapeutics, Frank served as Chief Medical Officer of Orna Therapeutics, where he led clinical strategy and development efforts until the company’s acquisition by Eli Lilly. Before joining MPM BioImpact, he was Senior Vice President and Global Head of Clinical Development at Kite, a Gilead Company. Previously, he served as Acting Chief Medical Officer at Verastem Oncology and Vice President, Head of Oncology Clinical Research at bluebird bio.
Earlier in his career, Frank was Clinical Development Head for Global Cell Therapy Approaches at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he held multiple leadership positions of increasing responsibility, including Global Clinical Lead and Medical Team Lead for two oncology programs. He also served on oncology medical teams at AstraZeneca and Sanofi-Aventis.
Board certified in Hematology/Oncology, Internal Medicine, and Palliative Care Medicine, Frank was a research scholar at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he earned his M.D. He received his Ph.D. from Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University Bonn, Germany.
